Valley Electrical Contracting, Inc. (VEC), a Montana-based commercial electrical contractor, is looking to hire an experienced Electrician. Since its founding in 1978, VEC has been committed to providing skill, integrity, efficiency, and productivity to ensure completion of quality projects.

Responsibilities of Electrician:

  • Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including electric service, panelboards, transformers, VFDs, feeders, branch wiring, lights, and wiring devices
  • VEC is a commercial electrical contractor, therefore the ability to efficiently bend and install EMT is critical
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on project specifications, National Electrical Code, and local code
  • Perform all work in a manner that meets and exceeds electrical codes, specifications, blueprints, and standards
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and bending equipment to complete task at-hand
  • Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
  • Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
  • Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring and make appropriate corrections

Qualifications for Electrician:

  • Current State of Montana Journeyman Electrical license or temporary license
  • Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program required
  • 3-5 years of electrical experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel
  • Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, or Monday through Thursday
  • 8-hour shifts and 10-hour shifts
  • Day Shift
